Day 01 : |
Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu city. You
stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu. Known as Kantipur, Kathmandu is the capital of
the Kingdom of Nepal. Here you will visit the
temple of the Living Goddess who acknowledges
the greetings of the devotees from the balcony
of her temple residence. Kashtamandap - the
source of the name Kathmandu and supposed to be
made from the timber of a single tree and the
Durbar Square are with its array of temples
overlooked by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, the
ancient place of the Nepalese Royalty.
This day you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square,
Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath.
Though there are other places worth to be
visited such as Machchendranath Temple, Akash
Bhairab Temple, Kumari Temple, Ashok Vinayak,
Jaishi Dewal, Tundikhel, Marty’r Memorial,
Bhadrakali Temple, Singha Darbar, Narayanhiti
Darbar, Kaiser Library, Budhanilkantha, Balaju
Water Gardens, the National Museum, Guheswari
Temple, Chabahil and Chandra Vinayak.
Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the most
popular tourist destination is enlisted in World
Heritage Sites. Clustered around the central
Durbar Square are the old Royal Palace (Hanuman
Dhoka), numerous interesting temples, the Kumari
Chowk or Kumari Bahal (House of the Living
Goddess) and the Kasthamandap (House of Wood)
from which Kathmandu derived its present name.
An inquisitive exploration in the Durbar Square
reveals the ancient art and architecture of
Nepal which has proved to be a masterpiece to
everyone accepting its genuineness.
Swayambhunath is located approximately 4 kms./2.5
miles and this Buddhist Stupa is said to be 2000
years old. The Stupa which forms the main
structure is composed of a solid hemisphere of
brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire
capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on
the four sided base of the spire are the all
seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. This hill is a
mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples.
Boudhanath Stupa is 8 kms east of Kathmandu City
and is one of the biggest in the world of its
kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the
four cardinal direction keeping watch for
righteous behavior and human prosperity. This
Buddhist Stupa was built by King Man Deva at the
advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built
on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels.
The shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas or
Buddhist priest.
Situated 5 kms east of Kathmandu City,
Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest
temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated amidst
a lush green natural setting on the bank of the
sacred Bagmati river, the temple built in pagoda
style has jilted roof and richly carved silver
doors. Visitors will be permitted to view the
temple from the east bank of Bagmati River,
entrance in the temple being strictly forbidden
to all non Hindus. Pashupatinath is the centre
of annual pilgrimage on the day of shivaratri
which falls in the month of February/March.
Behind the temple are the cremation grounds.

Day 02 : |
Sightseeing tour of Patan and Bhaktapur
and drive back to Kathmandu. You stay overnight

The ancient city of Patan, lying 5 km southeast
of Kathmandu, is known as Lalitpur or the city
of fine arts. The city is full of Hindu temples
and Buddhist monuments. The diversity of
medieval culture that allowed both Hinduism and
Buddhism to flourish has left a rich legacy of
impressive sightseeing in this city. At Patan
you explore Patan Durbar Square, Mahaboudha
Temple, Kumbeshwor temple, Krishna Temple,
Golden Temple and many other places of Patan,
you feel as if Patan has been unveiled before
you as an open museum showcasing intricately
carved windows, intrinsic roof struts, statues
of gods and goddesses, temples designed in
pagoda style with erotic carvings and repose
metalwork facades and many other exquisite
facets. You will also get to see handicraft
centre in Patan.
Durbar Square, like its counterpart in
Kathmandu, is an enchanting mélange of palace
buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful
pagoda temples. Listed as a World Heritage Site,
the former royal palace complex is the center of
Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a
museum containing an array of bronze statues and
religious objects. One remarkable monument here
is a 17th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu
god Krishna, built entirely of stone.
Bhaktapur (1,401m) covers an area of four square
miles. Bhaktapur or the city of devotees still
retains a medieval charm and visitors to this
ancient town are treated to myriad wonders of
cultural and artistic achievements. The past
glory of the Malla rules continues to be
reflected at the Darbar Square. Pottery and
waving are its traditional industries. Bhaktapur
is famous for woodcarving and the traditional
topi or cap. The city lies about 14 km east of
Kathmandu. The places of interest include
Bhaktapur Darbar Square, the National Are
Gallery, Nyatapola Temple, Bhairavnath Temple,
Dattatreya Temple and Dattatreya Square.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square: The main square of the
city contains innumerable temples and other
architectural showpieces such as lion gate, the
golden gate, the statue of King Bhupatindra
Malla, Dattatraya Temple etc.
A magnificent statue of King Bhupatindra Malla
in the act of worship is placed on a column
facing the palace. It was listed in the UNESCO
world Heritage Monument List in 1979.
Palace of 55 Windows: Being built by King Yaksha
Mall in 1427 A.D. and remodeled by King
Bhupatindra Malla in 17th Century, the balcony
and the windows are intricately carved, is a
masterpiece of wood carving.
Nyatapola Temple: This five storied Pagoda Style
temple was built by King Bhupatindra Malla in
1708 A.D. well known for its massive structure
and subtle workmanship. It is the tallest pagoda
structure in the Kathmandu valley.

Day 03 : |
Early drive to trail head at Hugdi on
the Kathmandu – Narayanghat highway. You enjoy
breakfast along the way. Start trekking uphill
to about 1400 meters at Hattibang. This moderate
to strenuous trek is picturesque as you pass
small villages and behind you is the awesome
scenery of the Trishuli river and the mountains
in the horizon. You can enjoy home stay in Magar
houses at Hattibang.

Day 04 : |
Early rise to walk uphill for about 2 hours to
reach Sirauchuli (the highest point in
the Chitwan district) at 1945 meters to enjoy
the 180 degree view of the Himalayas from
Dhaulagiri to Gauri Shankar. Situated in the mid
hills, this spot also offers majestic views of
the vast plains in the south. After breakfast on
the ridge, you walk down to visit the Chepang
village of Jyanjala. After a short rest here,
you start the up-down (so called Nepali flat)
trail to Upardangadi which will take about 4
hours. You do this moderate trek through and
excellent trail meandering through forests and
grazing fields, with views varying between the
Himalayas and the plains of the terai. By
afternoon, after the last long descent, you
arrive in the village for a well deserved rest.
In the early evening you walk up to the Upardang
fortress for a stunning sunset, before walking
back to your home stays in this Gurung village
which is highlighted by a cultural performance
by the people of the village.

Day 05 : |
After breakfast you bid goodbye to your hosts
and start trekking the long walk down to the
river and then along the river bed to Shaktikhor. This trek will take about 3 hours at
maximum. You then transfer to awaiting vehicles
to drive to Chitwan. Upon arrival at the lodge,
our staffs will brief you on the activities they
have planned. After lunch you will start your
jungle activities such as elephant safaris for 2
hours deep into the jungle to experience the
wildlife, flora and fauna of the park at close
quarters or a bird watching tour will be
organized. You stay overnight at the lodge

Day 06 : |
This day's activities include either an elephant
safari or a nature walk. After breakfast canoe
ride or a bird watching tour will be excellent
for you. Lunch at the lodge and after lunch an
elephant briefing at the Elephant stables where
naturalists will give a lecture on the Asian
Elephant. Here you will have an opportunity to
witness and participate in the bathing of an
elephant. You stay overnight at lodge.

Day 07 : |
Early morning you can enjoy elephant safari or
natures walk. After delicious breakfast you
drive back to Kathmandu.

Free day for shopping and recreation in

Drive from Kathmandu to Daman. You stay

Situated at a height of 2100 m./7500 ft. above
sea level and a distance of 80 kms./50 miles,
Daman is known for its vantage location in
viewing the Himalayan peaks such as Mount
Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal,
Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankar, Cho Oyu
etc. There is a view tower from where one can
have a panoramic view of 300 miles of the
Himalayan range.

Drive from Daman to Chitwan. You stay
overnight in Chitwan.
You can enjoy jungle activities. The Royal
Chitwan National Park is the lush valley of
Chitwan situated in the foothills of Churia
ranges which houses the first National Park of
the Kingdom. This National Park is famous for
its variety of wildlife especially the Great
Indian One Horned Rhinoceros and the elusive
Royal Bengal Tiger.
At present, there are seven Wildlife
Lodges/Camps operating safari style lodges
within the park area and offers elephant
excursions in the heart of the jungle to view
the games.

Day: 04 |
Full day jungle activities as per
program. You stay overnight in Chitwan.
During your stay in Chitwan National Park you
can enjoy different jungle activities such as:
Canoe Trip: You can enjoy canoe trip on either
The Rapti River or The Budhi Rapti River which
border the National Park. You can see two types
of crocodiles, the Gharial and Mugger basking on
the river bank.
Bird Watching: For the bird watchers, it is
Paradise Island with over 450 species of exotic
birds of domestic as well as migratory birds.
Many are threatened, e.g. the Great pied
hornbill, Bengal Florican, Peregrine falcon,
lesser adjutant storks, etc. A bird watching
trip will be a memorable experience.
Jungle Drive: A tour by four wheel drive in the
less distributed areas of the park to track the
rarer species. You will visit Ox-bow Lake and
museum of historic interest relating to the
park. However during this period we will visit
20,000 areas which afford a varied experience of
birds and mammals.
Nature Walk: Our experienced naturalists will
accompany you to the more specialized habitats.
This is the ideal opportunity to explore and
experience at closer quarters and beauty of the
flora and fauna. The authority of the naturalist

Elephant Breeding Centre: This is the first
Elephant breeding centre in Asia. You can see
baby elephants socializing with their parents

owned and its purpose is to raise the young
elephants, and to train them to convey tourist

Village tour: Excursion in Tharu village will
grant you an exhilarating experience. Tharus are
the indigenous inhabitant of the Terai. We offer
guided cultural tours to meet the people and
experience their traditional self-sufficient way
of life.
Cultural Program: In the evening you will get an
opportunity to be a part of Tharu folk dance.
The drummers and symbolic stick dancers perform
traditional movements and invite guests to join
them in this rhythmic display. Such cultural

Drive from Chitwan to Lumbini and it
takes approximately three hours. You stay
overnight at hotel in Lumbini.
You can enjoy half day tour of Lumbini. 232
kms/145 miles away from Kathmandu, Lumbini is
the birth place of Lord Buddha. The broken
Ashoka Pillar, remnants of old monastery, images
of Buddha's mother Maya Devi, are still
preserved here.
Lumbini can be reached by road from Kathmandu
via Pokhara or Royal Chitwan National Park or by
air till Bhairahawa and then by road.

Sight seeing tour of Lumbini. You stay

Drive from Lumbini to Palpa Tansen. You
stay overnight at hotel in Tansen.
This day you can enjoy half day tour of Palpa
Tansen. Situated on the slopes of a hill called
Shreengar Danda, Tansen is a bright Himalayan
Town. It is also the most popular summer resort
of western Nepal on account of its position and
climate. It has perhaps Nepal's most far
stretching views of the country's chief
attraction - The Himalayas; from Dhaulagiri in
the west to Gauri Shanker in the north east.

Day: 08 |
Drive from Palpa to Pokhara. You stay
overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.
The rare combination of snow clad peaks, snow
fed lakes and rivers has helped to make the
Valley of Pokhara (210 km./131 miles from
Kathmandu) one of the most picturesque natural
attractions in the Kingdom.
A must for all visitors to Pokhara Valley is the
Phewa Lake. A half day excursion of the Pokhara
Valley consists of a visit to the old city, new
market, the cap factory and the Seti Gorge. For
people with more time in hand, can visit the
Begnas and Rupa Tal or take a 3 hour hike to
Sarangkot or Hyangja.

Day: 09 |
Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul
(1050m.) by car which takes one and half hours
drive. Now you begin your trek from Nayapul
(1050m.) to Tikhedhunga (1577 m.) via Birethanti
(1065m.) which takes about four and half hours.
After breakfast at hotel you could drive by car
or van for one and half hours to Nayapul. Then
you start your trekking. The first part of your
trek is easy passing through numerous small
villages and settlements. Afterwards you could
ascend gently to the final destination of the
day. The majority people here are Gurung and
their religion is Buddhist. They are engaged in
agricultural activities, tourism business and
some in Gorkha and Indian regiments.

Day: 10 |
Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani
(2675 m.) and it takes about six hours.
To begin your trek, you could ascend steeply for
the early 2 hours and then ascend gently passing
through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti, Magar
villages. On the way, you could see good view of
Machhapuchhre or Fish Tail (6997m.), Huinchuli
(6441m.), and Annapurna (7219m.) South. Now your
trail is quite easier passing through forest and
descends gently up to the final camp. You could
see some of the wild life such as monkey and
various species of birds.

Day: 11 |
Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani (1189m.)
which takes about seven and half hours.
This day offers you an early morning trip to
Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view
over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak
(6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar
(7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna
South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.),
Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.),
Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.)
and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks.
After breakfast you trek from Ghorepani to
Tatopani. After descending through the
rhododendron forest, fine vistas open up we
approach Chitre, with the Dhaulagiri Range
straight ahead. The path then leads through
terraced fields to Sikha, a Magar village
clustered on a ridge. You continue to descend,
gradually at first and then more steeply to
cross the Ghar Khola. After a short climb, we
then cross the Kali Gandaki on a large
suspension bridge and from here it is only a
short distance upstream to Tatopani. Tatopani
takes its name from the hot springs near the
river below the village. At Tatopani you can
enjoy the Natural Hot Spring Bath.

Day: 12 |
Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2013m.) and
it takes about five hours.
The followed route ascends gently up the Kali
Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world,
towards the village of Dana, which is surrounded
by orange groves. From autumn to winter, baskets
of these oranges are offered for sale to passing
travelers. Just beyond the small hamlet of
Rupse, a thundering waterfall cascades down
beside the trail. From here, the trail enters
the steepest and narrowest section of the gorge,
but the layered stone path is well-constructed
and wide. When the rock cliffs end, we descend
to the river before making the short climb back
up to Ghasa. This is the first Thakali village
we come across and the houses here are all built
in the flat-roofed Tibetan style.

Day: 13 |
Trek from Ghasa to Larjung and it takes
about six hours.
After two hours of pleasant trekking along the
western bank of Kali Gandaki, cross Lete Khola
by a wooden bridge and pass through Lete 7500
ft. Walk through the lovely pine trees along the
bank of Kalopani 8000 ft and cross Depa and
proceed towards Larjung.

Day: 14 |
Trek from Larjung to Jomsom which takes
about six hours.
After passing the village of Khanti 8500 ft and
Tukhuche 8485 ft, you will reach Marpha 8760 ft
for the lunch stop. Pass Syang 9000 ft and the
Jomsom air-strip to reach the main Jomsom
village on the eastern bank of Kali Gandaki
river. There are Government Offices, Police and
military post, a wireless station and a number
of local shops. Your trek ends here.

Day: 15 |
Day trip to Kagbeni. You stay overnight
in Jomsom.
After breakfast in Jomsom, start trek by
crossing the Kaligandaki Bridge and the trail
goes to Jomsom village. After walking about 2
hours on the Kaligandaki riverbank along with
the river flowing on your left to reach Ekley
Bhatti village, followed by the upward slop to
reach Kagbeni in an hour. There is a police
check-post as well as a post office. Kagbeni
lies at the bank side of two rivers, Kaligandaki
(flows from Muktinath) and Nilgiri (flows from
Mt. Nilgiri). Finally you trek same way back to
Jomsom.

Day: 16 |
Fly back to Pokhara. You stay overnight
at hotel in Pokhara.
In the afternoon you go for sightseeing tour of
Pokhara city & one-hour boat ride at Phewa Lake.

Drive or Fly to Kathmandu. You stay

Drive from Palpa to Pokhara. You stay
overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.
The rare combination of snow clad peaks, snow
fed lakes and rivers has helped to make the
Valley of Pokhara (210 km./131 miles from
Kathmandu) one of the most picturesque natural
attractions in the Kingdom.
A must for all visitors to Pokhara Valley is the
Phewa Lake. A half day excursion of the Pokhara
Valley consists of a visit to the old city, new
market, the cap factory and the Seti Gorge. For
people with more time in hand, can visit the
Begnas and Rupa Tal or take a 3 hour hike to
Sarangkot or Hyangja.

Day: 09 |
Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul
(1050m.) by car which takes one and half hours
drive. Now you begin your trek from Nayapul
(1050m.) to Tikhedhunga (1577 m.) via Birethanti
(1065m.) which takes about four and half hours.
After breakfast at hotel you could drive by car
or van for one and half hours to Nayapul. Then
you start your trekking. The first part of your
trek is easy passing through numerous small
villages and settlements. Afterwards you could
ascend gently to the final destination of the
day. The majority people here are Gurung and
their religion is Buddhist. They are engaged in
agricultural activities, tourism business and
some in Gorkha and Indian regiments.

Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani
(2675 m.) and it takes about six hours.
To begin your trek, you could ascend steeply for
the early 2 hours and then ascend gently passing
through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti, Magar
villages. On the way, you could see good view of
Machhapuchhre or Fish Tail (6997m.), Huinchuli
(6441m.), and Annapurna (7219m.) South. Now your
trail is quite easier passing through forest and
descends gently up to the final camp. You could
see some of the wild life such as monkey and
various species of birds.

Day: 11 |
Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani (1189m.)
which takes about seven and half hours.
This day offers you an early morning trip to
Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view
over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak
(6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar
(7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna
South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.),
Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.),
Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.)
and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks.
After breakfast you trek from Ghorepani to
Tatopani. After descending through the
rhododendron forest, fine vistas open up we
approach Chitre, with the Dhaulagiri Range
straight ahead. The path then leads through
terraced fields to Sikha, a Magar village
clustered on a ridge. You continue to descend,
gradually at first and then more steeply to
cross the Ghar Khola. After a short climb, we
then cross the Kali Gandaki on a large
suspension bridge and from here it is only a
short distance upstream to Tatopani. Tatopani
takes its name from the hot springs near the
river below the village. At Tatopani you can
enjoy the Natural Hot Spring Bath.

Day: 12 |
Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2013m.) and
it takes about five hours.
The followed route ascends gently up the Kali
Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world,
towards the village of Dana, which is surrounded
by orange groves. From autumn to winter, baskets
of these oranges are offered for sale to passing
travelers. Just beyond the small hamlet of
Rupse, a thundering waterfall cascades down
beside the trail. From here, the trail enters
the steepest and narrowest section of the gorge,
but the layered stone path is well-constructed
and wide. When the rock cliffs end, we descend
to the river before making the short climb back
up to Ghasa. This is the first Thakali village
we come across and the houses here are all built
in the flat-roofed Tibetan style.

Day: 13 |
Trek from Ghasa to Larjung and it takes
about six hours.
After two hours of pleasant trekking along the
western bank of Kali Gandaki, cross Lete Khola
by a wooden bridge and pass through Lete 7500
ft. Walk through the lovely pine trees along the
bank of Kalopani 8000 ft and cross Depa and
proceed towards Larjung.

Day: 14 |
Trek from Larjung to Jomsom which takes
about six hours.
After passing the village of Khanti 8500 ft and
Tukhuche 8485 ft, you will reach Marpha 8760 ft
for the lunch stop. Pass Syang 9000 ft and the
Jomsom air-strip to reach the main Jomsom
village on the eastern bank of Kali Gandaki
river. There are Government Offices, Police and
military post, a wireless station and a number
of local shops. Your trek ends here.

Day: 15 |
Day trip to Kagbeni. You stay overnight
in Jomsom.
After breakfast in Jomsom, start trek by
crossing the Kaligandaki Bridge and the trail
goes to Jomsom village. After walking about 2
hours on the Kaligandaki riverbank along with
the river flowing on your left to reach Ekley
Bhatti village, followed by the upward slop to
reach Kagbeni in an hour. There is a police
check-post as well as a post office. Kagbeni
lies at the bank side of two rivers, Kaligandaki
(flows from Muktinath) and Nilgiri (flows from
Mt. Nilgiri). Finally you trek same way back to
Jomsom.

Day: 16 |
Fly back to Pokhara. You stay overnight
at hotel in Pokhara.
In the afternoon you go for sightseeing tour of
Pokhara city & one-hour boat ride at Phewa Lake.

Day: 17 |
Drive or Fly to Kathmandu. You stay
overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
In the afternoon you go for sightseeing tour of
Kathmandu city and visit Swayambhunath. Known as
Kantipur, Kathmandu is the capital of the
Kingdom of Nepal. Here you will visit the temple
of the Living Goddess who acknowledges the
greetings of the devotees from the balcony of
her temple residence. Kashtamandap - the source
of the name Kathmandu and supposed to be made
from the timber of a single tree and the Durbar
Square are with its array of temples overlooked
by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, the ancient place
of the Nepalese Royalty.
Located approximately 4 kms./2.5 miles,
Swayambhunath is said to be 2000 years old. The
Stupa which forms the main structure is composed
of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth
supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a
pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four
sided base of the spire are the all seeing eyes
of Lord Buddha. This hill is a mosaic of small
Chaityas and Pagoda temples.

a lush green natural setting on the bank of the
sacred Bagmati river, the temple built in pagoda
style has jilted roof and richly carved silver
doors. Visitors will be permitted to view the
temple from the east bank of Bagmati River,
entrance in the temple being strictly forbidden
to all non Hindus. Pashupatinath is the centre
of annual pilgrimage on the day of shivaratri
which falls in the month of February/March.
Behind the temple are the cremation grounds.
Boudhnath Stupa, 8 kms east of Kathmandu City,
is one of the biggest in the world of its kind.
It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four
cardinal direction keeping watch for righteous
behaviour and human prosperity. This Buddhist
Stupa was built by King Man Deva at the advice
of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built on an
octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The
shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas or Buddhist
priest.

Bhaktapur (1,401m) covers an area of four square
miles. Bhaktapur or the city of devotees still
retains a medieval charm and visitors to this
ancient town are treated to myriad wonders of
cultural and artistic achievements. The past
glory of the Malla rules continues to be
reflected at the Darbar Square. Pottery and
waving are its traditional industries. Bhaktapur
is famous for woodcarving and the traditional
topi or cap. The city lies about 14 km east of
Kathmandu. The places of interest include
Bhaktapur Darbar Square, the National Art
Gallery, Nyatapola Temple, Bhairavnath Temple,
Dattatreya Temple and Dattatreya Square.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square: The main square of the
city contains innumerable temples and other
architectural showpieces such as lion gate, the
golden gate, the statue of King Bhupatindra
Malla, Dattatraya Temple etc.
A magnificent statue of King Bhupatindra Malla
in the act of worship is placed on a column
facing the palace. It was listed in the UNESCO
world Heritage Monument List in 1979.
Palace of 55 Windows: Being built by King Yaksha
Mall in 1427 A.D. and remodeled by King
Bhupatindra Malla in 17th Century, the balcony
and the windows are intricately carved, is a
masterpiece of wood carving.
Nyatapola Temple: This five storied Pagoda Style
temple was built by King Bhupatindra Malla in
1708 A.D. well known for its massive structure
and subtle workmanship. It is the tallest pagoda
structure in the Kathmandu valley.

of Kathmandu, is known as Lalitpur or the city
of fine arts. The city is full of Hindu temples
and Buddhist monuments. The diversity of
medieval culture that allowed both Hinduism and
Buddhism to flourish has left a rich legacy of
impressive sightseeing in this city. At Patan
you explore Patan Durbar Square, Mahaboudha
Temple, Kumbeshwor temple, Krishna Temple,
Golden Temple and many other places of Patan,
you feel as if Patan has been unveiled before
you as an open museum showcasing intricately
carved windows, intrinsic roof struts, statues
of gods and goddesses, temples designed in
pagoda style with erotic carvings and repose
metalwork facades and many other exquisite
facets. You will also get to see handicraft
centre in Patan.
Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the major
attractions in Kathmandu Valley. The word Durbar
Square translated in English as Palace Complex.
The Durbar Square, with its old temples and
palaces, epitomizes the religious and cultural
life of the people. Interesting things to see
here are:-
Kumari (The Living Goddess) Gar: At the West end
of the square, is a beautiful house full of
woodcarving of different God and Goddesses. This
Palace is three storied and in this palace,
lives the very famous living Goddess Kumari.
Both Hindus and Buddhists equally venerate her.
For Hindus she is the reincarnation of Hindu
Goddess Kali. She is equally worshiped by
Buddhists because she is chosen from Buddhist
family. This shows the harmony between Buddhist
and Hindus in Nepal.
Kastha Mandap: One of the popular temples of Kathmandu Durbar Square is Kashamandap locally
known as Maru Sattal. It is believed that the
name of Kathmandu City is derived from the name
of this temple. Kastha means wood and Mandap
means pavilion. And it is said that this temple
is built by one single Sal (sorea robusta) tree.
At the center of this temple, one can see the
statue of a Hindu God Gorakhnath and in the four
corners of the temple one can see Ganesh
Statues.
Maru Ganesh: Small yet the most visited temple
of Kathmandu is Maru Ganesh. The people of
Kathmandu valley believe that the four Ganesh in
four corners of Kathmandu valley protect the
peoples living in Kathmandu. Every day people go
to worship this temple and especially on
Tuesdays one can see a long queue of people
waiting for hours to worship. Tuesday is
considered the day of Ganesh.
Other interesting things to see here are Mahadev
Temple, Shiva Parvati Temple, Bhagwati Temple,
Old palace, Saraswoti temple, Krishna Octangular
Temple, Big drums, Kal Bhairav, Jagannath
Temple, and Taleju Temple etc.

Full day sightseeing tour of Kirtipur, Chovar,
and Dakshinkali, then drive back to hotel. The
Kirtipur is situated on the top of hillock 6 km
southwest of Kathmandu. The ancient township is
a natural fortress and has a proud and
courageous history. It was founded by Shiva Deva
between 1099 and 1126. It was apart of kingdom
of Patan after the division of Kathmandu valley
in 1482. Historically, this city is famous for
its resistance against the invasion of Gorkhas.
The King of Gorkha, Prithivi Narayan Shah
attacked there time to conquer this city. The
city is historically and artistically important.
There are many small and big temples and stupas
scattered around the city. The Chilamchu Stupa
and the temple of Bagh Bhairav are major sights
here. Kirtipur offers quaint streets lined with
artistic houses and temple squares. The people
are known for their skill in building and
weaving.
The temple of Dakshinkali is dedicated to the
Hindu goddess Kali and is one of the most
popular places of worship in Kathmandu. Located
22 km from the city center on the southern rim
of the valley past Pharping village, the shrine
is especially crowded on Tuesdays and Saturdays
when animal sacrifices are offered to the deity.
According to a mythology the Goddess Durga has
killed the demon and drank the blood of animals.
This is the reason blood is scarified to her.
The temple was built by Pratap Malla during 17th
century, but the construction, seems to be very
new.
On the way back, you stop at Chobhar gorge.
Legend has it that Manjushree cutout the gorge
to drain out Kathmandu valley was then a lake.
There is a small but picturesque temple of
Adinath on the top of a hill. From this top one
can have a completed view of snowcapped
mountains peaks.
